Congratulations to our CMB graduate, Dr. Nick So for being selected as the Innovators Under 35 (TR35) China 2022 by MIT Technology Review

Dr. Nick So received the Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology with first class honor from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016 and his Dr. rer. nat. in Biology with summa cum laude from the University of Goettingen in 2019. He was awarded with the Otto Hahn Medal and the Otto Hahn Award from the Max Planck Society in 2020.

This March, Dr. Nick So was awarded as the Innovators Under 35 (TR35) China 2022 by MIT Technology Review. This award is granted to young innovators in frontier technology, including world-known scientists and entrepreneurs like Larry Page and Sergey Brin, both co-founders of Google, and Feng Zhang, a pioneer in the development of CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing. It was awarded to Dr. Nick So for his recent discovery of the deficiency of a motor protein, KIFC1, in human eggs that causes frequent chromosome missegregations and aneuploidies and the proposal of a therapeutic strategy to overcome this.
