a. Mechanisms for maintaining the self-renewal and pluripotent characteristics of embryonic stem cells.

b. Mechanisms controlling the cardiac differentiation of embryonic stem cells.

c. Mechanisms of automaticity of embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes.

2. Ion channels and cardiovascular physiology.

3. Adult stem cells and cancer stem cells.
