Introduction
Cell and Molecular Biology is an interdisciplinary field at the forefront of modern biology and medicine. Advances in multi-omics sequencing and cellular imaging technologies have transformed our understanding of biological systems, enabling scientists to investigate gene function and regulation at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels.
The Cell and Molecular Biology Programme (CMBI) offers an integrated curriculum that provides students with a broad foundation in molecular and cellular biology. Students gain knowledge in diverse areas such as stem cell biology, neurobiology, cancer biology, genomics and organelle dynamics, while developing practical skills through intensive laboratory training. The programme also emphasises data analysis, critical thinking, scientific writing and communication, preparing graduates for research careers and further studies in the life sciences and related disciplines. Through close mentorship and research-intensive training, CMBI equips students with the knowledge, technical expertise and scientific mindset required to become the next generation of scientists and contribute to future discoveries in life sciences.
