Postgraduate

The Biology postgraduate programmes leading to MPhil and PhD degrees are both research-oriented although students are required to take a number of courses. The postgraduate programme was established in 1969 with the introduction of a MSc programme which was replaced by a MPhil programme in 1972. The PhD programme was introduced in 1981.

We provide advanced training for students to pursue research and teaching careers in life sciences, health and related fields of study. Fields of specialization include

  • Animal, Plant and Microbial Biotechnology
  • Physiology and Development Biology
  • Marine and Environmental Sciences
